Pauline`s Story and Testimonial
My name is Pauline. I discovered very late in my life that I was attracted to women. I was in my early forties. I was very confused, shocked, embarrassed, felt abnormal, felt it was wrong to be attracted to same sex, wanted to be able to discuss my feelings. I didn’t have anyone to talk to about this, my friends and parents were not an option.
I started surfing the internet trying to find a networking website where I could meet others in the same situation and discuss my feelings in a safe environment. The sites I found were mostly dating sites and not any opportunity to network or make friends with women who were in a similar predicament. All I needed was a friend. I spent a lot of money joining various sites, but did not find what I was looking for. I was very disillusioned, frustrated, I wondered whether I would find a site that would cater for what I needed.
Whilst out shopping I was approached by a woman who was distributing research leaflets on launching an online social networking website for the LGBT Community. They asked me what I thought. I said that was a brilliant idea, a site where people could openly connect with each other. What impress me was that the website would cater for people looking for friends and that it would be made up of real members and not paid database members.
This website was what I was looking for, a safe and secure website where I would be able to make friends, discuss my feelings and exchange views, opinions. So I joined xycommunity.com and volunteered to help with the website. I have been following the progress of the website and share the founder’s dream of having a unified and powerful social networking website which will be recognised worldwide.
My personal opinion I find xycommunity.com is community orientated, it has allowed me to make friends, it is good value for money, and the cost is nowhere near how much I paid for being a member of other sites.
I think it is a breath of fresh air, it is clean has no adult contents, it is very appealing and unique. I would encourage anyone of LGBT community to join xycommunity.com I have and am reaping the rewards.
